We create engraved plaques or street numbers using our digital orders, which are typically placed on gate pillars or house walls. The installation is very simple and can be done by yourself. Several techniques are available depending on the specifics of the location or the desired result.
The majority of our customers fix their engraved plate thanks to holes (dowels, screws and diamond-tipped cover). We make the holes in the stone (diameter 8 mm) with 4 holes for the engraved plates and 2 for the street numbers (format 15 x 15 or 20 x 15 cm).
Diamond-tipped covers are not mandatory, it is possible to leave the screw heads without any covering for more simplicity.
We can provide fixing kit including all the necessary items with the correct calibration of the dowels and screws to support the weight of the stone. 2 kits exist: one for engraved plates and one for street numbers. Thus, you only have to drill the holes on the pillar.
For a precise set up, we advise you to lay the plaque on the pillar and then use a pencil to mark the positioning of the holes. Check with a bubble level the flatness.
In stone, we do not usually use spacers which are rather used for thin stainless steel or plexiglass plates. The thickness of our plates is 3 cm; 2 cm for street numbers. This brings resistance and relief.
Another variant is to seal, or embed the plate in the wall by making a concrete support. You can use wood battens to press the plate against the wall for 1 or 2 days. This installation is slightly less simple than the installation with screws.
The plates can also be placed on a stone or metal easel. This can be relevant in the halls of hotels, restaurants, cottages … The main use, however, is with funerary monuments – the easel is layed on the tombstone.
