How to make the junction between the countertop and the sink ?
Limestone sink: Either the countertop is straight (without a drainer), in which case a fine silicone joint in a color close to the stone is sufficient (see below), or you want a drainer. In this configuration, we will create a rebate on the sink to inset the countertop. This integrated drainer will always have a slope and may or may not have grooves.
Stainless steel sink : We will make a cut with a finished edge so that you or your professional can attach the sink underneath. We can also create a sloped drainer on one side, with or without grooves.
Installation of Burgundy limestone kitchen countertops
To glue the countertops, you should simply use a white adhesive, such as Parexlanko Prolipro (no gray adhesive). To attach jambs to a sink or countertop, simply apply two spots of adhesive on each jamb—one on the top (junction with the sink) and one on the bottom (junction with the floor, which must be level).
For grouting the countertops, two types of products are available: powder joints or silicone joints. We recommend silicone joints (which are much more durable than powder joints) that are compatible with natural stone, as they minimize the risk of migration (the transfer of components from the joint onto the stone, which could cause staining). We offer fine joints from the brand Otto Chemie in 5 different colors to match our various stones (e.g., Jasmin C08 for Charmot Clair stone or Beige de Grès C110 for Lanvignes Doré-Jaune limestone).
