Water drop test

The water drop test, also known as the porosity test, is a quick method that allows you to estimate, within a few minutes, the average consumption of treatment product (mainly mineralizing agents) needed per layer for 1 m². The spoon test involves applying a specific amount of water to a surface to determine the material's absorption rate.

Porosity test - Horizontal surface

WATER DROP TEST - VERTICAL SURFACE

Porosity test - Vertical surface

This test provides indicative values that correspond to common uses of the mineralizing agent. They result from objective tests conducted in the laboratory. The consumption rates listed above are average values that are sufficient in 95% of cases. However, a material that is either low in porosity or highly porous may alter the consumption rates indicated above.
