Travertine coping

Travertine has become a synonym for natural limestone.

Travertine stone originates from Italy and Turkey (today, extraction is primarily carried out in Turkey). Due to its popularity and presence in major DIY and building material stores (such as Castorama, Big Mat, Point P, Leroy Merlin...), the term "travertine" has become synonymous with natural stone, and even with Burgundy stone.

However, travertine is indeed a natural limestone, but it is inno way comparable to Burgundy stone, for example. While their colors may have similarities (beige cream - golden yellow), travertine stone typically has many more voids and holes, which need to be filled with grout. This seems to be a significant weakness, especially for outdoor use. Over time, the grout can darken and deteriorate, requiring frequent repairs to the structure.

Travertine copings

You will find many travertine copings at merchants or DIY stores. The format is standardized, imposing constraints in terms of width and thickness. As a manufacturer, we produce our stone copings on demand, allowing us to manufacture exact dimensions to your custom specifications. As standard, we offer thicknesses ranging from 3 to 15 cm and widths from 15 to 60 cm.

We only offer natural stones from Burgundy, particularly Lanvignes Doré-Jaune and Semond Nuancé stones. We offer two main finishes : Aged and Chiseled-Hammered. Learn more about these two finishes on our dedicated page.

At Comptoir des Pierres, we strive for maximum transparency in our work and pricing. Therefore, you will find all our coping prices on our website.
