Expansion joint in paving
Our stone paving limestones can cover paths, driveways, terraces, roadways... Several thicknesses are available depending on the substrate and usage (pedestrian, driveable...). These paving stones can also be used in conjunction with decorative concrete structures, for example.
A technical role : expansion joint
When building a terrace or driveway, it is essential to include expansion joints. With a concrete structure, and especially with decorative concrete, limestone paving stones can serve this purpose. In any case, refer to your installer who will be able to provide precise advice on the applicable DTU (Unified Technical Documents) for your project.
Our paving limestones are particularly suited for this type of construction with a bush-hammered or flamed finish. We can also create decorative or engraved paving limestones to add an extra touch, such as engraving a name, date, quote, etc.
Limestone paving layout : an aesthetic asset
A paving layout refers to the arrangement of paving limestones, which can form patterns or geometric structures. Beyond using paving limestones for expansion joints, these stones can be used creatively to structure the space or add a more creative and innovative touch to your pathways or courtyards (roses, letters, etc.).
Paving stones can also serve as formwork by structuring the edges of a pathway. Indeed, formwork is used to contain the concrete while it sets and to shape it into the desired form. Traditionally, formwork is made with wooden planks, but it is possible to combine both functions with decorative natural limestone paving limestones, which will mark the edge of the concrete and remain sealed for aesthetic purposes.
