Granite coping

A production mainly in Burgundy limestone

We specialize in manufacturing natural stones from Burgundy, offering 83 varieties ranging from creamy beige to golden yellow. For our copings, we primarily recommend Lanvignes Doré-Jaune and Semond stones, available in Aged and Chiseled-Bush Hammered finishes. Explore these products further on our wall tops dedicated page.

Based in Comblanchien, at the heart of Côte d'Or between Dijon and Beaune, our proximity to Burgundy quarries facilitates operations and minimizes carbon footprint.

Petit Granit copings available on request

However, upon request, we also craft coping stones, wall tops, and parapets in Belgian Blue Stone, also known as Petit Granit. Extracted in a grey hue, after finishing, it can range from grey to nearly black in color.

Below are some examples in photos. We offer two standard finishes: Aged Grey and Aged Black. We can customize dimensions according to your preferences, ranging from 15 to 60 cm in width and 3 to 15 cm in thickness. These stones are also suitable for pool copings. For pool surrounds, we can adapt with an anti-slip finish achieved through bush hammering.

Working with this limestone allows us to offer contemporary colors like anthracite grey or grey-black, similar to the appearance of slate. While we no longer offer slate, which we worked with for several years, we found it too brittle over the long term. For durability reasons, we now prefer Petit Granit (Belgian Blue Stone). We also use this stone for creating insets in pavements, sinks, basins, and more. Explore more photos of our Belgian Blue limestone creations here.

The price of Belgian Blue Stone represents a 30 to 40% premium compared to Burgundy limestones for two reasons : the blocks are more expensive to purchase, and the processing time is longer due to the stone's hardness (average bulk density of Burgundy stone: 2200 kg/m³ vs. 2690 kg/m³ for Petit Granit).
