Staircase

We manufacture and deliver all over France staircases in our natural limestone from Burgundy.

There are several ways to build a staircase in natural Burgundy stone. Below, we present these different methods. The choice of one or the other depends on several factors:

1- Renovation or new construction project

2- Allocated budget

3- Skill level of the layer (specialist or generalist; or yourself as a DIY enthusiast)

Moreover, many technical terms come into play when building or renovating a staircase: tread, stringer, flight of stairs, quarter-turn, straight step, balanced step, stair width, landing, slab, opening, headroom, stringer, setback...

Feel free to consult us for your stone staircase project.

> Fixing on a concrete support (treads + risers),

The classic choice for new construction or renovation. The covering of the step surface is generally called the tread, while the covering of the vertical part of the step is called the riser.

Building a cladded stone staircase (as opposed to a solid stone staircase) is the most cost-effective option while still offering a high-quality visual result.

Send us your sketch for a quotation, including as much information as possible (number of steps, dimensions, etc.), and specify whether the returns (the visible sides of the steps and risers) should be in stone.

> Spiral stairs (treads + risers)

The Sarrasine vault gives our staircases an unparalleled elegance and slenderness compared to installation on a concrete structure. This type of stone staircase construction requires no formwork or scaffolding, creating an impression of lightness. The staircase is often balanced, with steps and risers embedded into the side wall. A qualified professional (mason, plasterer) is required for this type of installation.

> Solid steps

Excellence in straight, balanced, or helical forms. This type of construction must be installed by a professional experienced in this technique.

We also offer individual stone steps (or stone step blocks) in heights of 15, 18, or 20 cm, with custom tread width according to your dimensions.

Feel free to consult us before starting your project. The success of a staircase begins with its design and drawing.
