Mineralizing agents for natural stone are becoming increasingly popular. Historically, natural stone was treated with water repellents that saturate the stone to make it less porous and less sensitive to stains. These treatments are not permanent and must be reapplied regularly, especially on outdoor terraces.

The mineralizing agent is a non-film-forming solution that penetrates by capillarity and transforms free lime and cavities into silica through a chemical reaction. It is a solution of polycrystalline silicon. This reaction is called mineralization. The goal is to consolidate and waterproof all porous mineral surfaces. The surfaces are treated deeply due to the strong capillarity; additionally, they are not sensitive to UV rays. Treated surfaces are then more resistant to external attacks and easier to clean.

This treatment is permanent. We recommend it over traditional water repellents (if your budget allows) for your outdoor projects: terraces, pathways, and pool copings, particularly for the following stones: Massangis and Semond.
